Spatial Politics: An Urban Garden
1994

Courtyard installation with Susan Leibovitz Steinman, Judith Blankman, and Janice Sandeen. Nineteen ravens, made of recycled materials, installed on site and integrated within the works of the other three artists.

Contract Design Center, San Francisco, California

Within popular mythologies, the raven is the messenger between the black void, source of all creativity, and this world. It is also a symbol of a watcher. This piece brought attention to ecological issues to an urban center, and was educational about the condition of the planet.
